Thracians 10mm

The Thracians
The Thracians were an ancient Indo-European people who inhabited a vast region encompassing modern-day Bulgaria, northern Greece, European Turkey and parts of Romania. Known to both Greeks and Romans, they were regarded as fierce, warlike, and highly independent. Thracian tribes acted as mercenaries, raiders, and on occasions challengers to the dominant powers of the classical world
Thracian warriors typically fought in light, mobile groups, well adapted to the rugged, mountainous terrain of their homeland. Their weaponry included spears, javelins, and the fearsome Rhomphaia โ a two-handed slashing weapon with a straight or slightly curved blade, capable of devastating cuts and thrusts.
Thracian cavalry, particularly among the Odrysians and Getae tribes, played a significant role in regional warfare. These mounted warriors were known for their speed and shock tactics, often using javelins and short swords in hit-and-run attacks. Thracian horsemen were highly valued as mercenaries and served in the armies of Greece, Persia, and later Rome, contributing to campaigns across the Mediterranean.
Despite their martial prowess, the Thracians were never politically unified. Their tribal structure fostered internal rivalries and limited coordinated resistance to foreign powers. Nevertheless, they fiercely opposed Roman expansion, and their resistance โ though fragmented โ persisted for decades. In 46 CE, Thrace was formally annexed as a Roman province, but Thracian auxiliary troops continued to serve in Roman legions for centuries, preserving elements of their distinctive warrior culture.

Where possible I have sculpted models to be self supporting. I add supports during my sculpting process rather than afterward. The integration of supports into design allows me to reduce the number of supports needed, and to position them more favourably. My supports need to be removed with clippers or a scalpel. All models requiring supports are also supplied in an unsupported format.
Some infantry models are supplied strip mounted. Strip mounted models are supplied on strips intended for use on 40mm wide bases. Where models are strip mounted individually mounted models are also supplied.
Please see unit descriptions to see the variety of helmet / hat, cloak, boot and shield options that are included.
