The Huns
The Huns emerged on the fringes of the Roman world in the late fourth century CE. Advancing across the steppes north of the Black Sea, they overwhelmed Alans and Goths, driving many westwards towards the Roman frontier. Their arrival helped set in motion migrations and conflicts that reshaped Europe.
Famed for their mounted archery, Hunnic warriors combined mobility with powerful composite bows. Their armies also drew on the peoples brought under their rule, including Goths, Gepids and Alans. This made a Hunnic army a varied force, united by powerful leaders rather than a single shared origin.
Under Attila, Hunnic power reached its height. From a centre in the middle Danube region, his armies threatened the Eastern Roman Empire, invaded Gaul in 451 CE and entered northern Italy the following year. Warfare, diplomacy and demands for tribute all played their part in maintaining his power.
Attila’s death in 453 CE was followed by struggles over his succession and the rapid break-up of his empire. Hunnic groups remained active afterwards, but the great coalition that had challenged Rome did not survive him.

This range represents the Hunnic armies of the late fourth and fifth centuries CE.
Where possible I have sculpted models to be self supporting. I add supports during my sculpting process rather than afterward. The integration of supports into design allows me to reduce the number of supports needed, and to position them more favourably. My supports need to be removed with clippers or a scalpel. All models requiring supports are also supplied in an unsupported format.
